Medicare Advantage
A private plan provides your Part A and Part B benefits. Many include Part D and extra benefits. Networks, prior authorization, copays and annual medical spending limits matter.

I help you compare coverage around the care you actually use: your doctors, prescriptions, specialists and budget. We’ll look at the whole plan together.
UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCES
A private plan provides your Part A and Part B benefits. Many include Part D and extra benefits. Networks, prior authorization, copays and annual medical spending limits matter.
Medigap works with Original Medicare to help pay certain out-of-pocket costs. It does not work with Medicare Advantage. Enrollment timing and underwriting rules deserve attention.
Part D may be included in an Advantage plan or purchased separately with Original Medicare. Compare your exact medications, pharmacy and total annual costs.
MEDICARE ADVANTAGE GIVEBACK PLANS
Some Medicare Advantage plans pay part or all of the Part B premium for eligible members who pay it themselves. The reduction may appear as a smaller Social Security deduction or a credit on your Medicare bill.
The amount and availability depend on the plan and location, and processing can take time. A giveback is a premium reduction, not a separate cash or grocery-card benefit.
CHRONIC CONDITION SPECIAL NEEDS PLANS · C-SNPS
C-SNPs are Medicare Advantage plans for people with qualifying chronic conditions. They include drug coverage and care coordination, with eligibility tied to the conditions that the particular plan serves.
Some C-SNPs serve people with diabetes. We’ll compare your medications, insulin, supplies, specialists and pharmacies against the plan’s coverage and rules.
CMS recognizes certain chronic lung conditions, including chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma and pulmonary fibrosis. For COPD or another lung diagnosis, we’ll verify the exact condition criteria and local plan availability.
Bring questions about your pulmonologist, inhalers, oxygen and equipment suppliers.
You must have Parts A and B, live in the service area and meet the plan’s specific eligibility criteria. Clinical verification may be required. Having diabetes or a lung condition does not automatically qualify you for every C-SNP or extra benefit.

PUBLIC CMS ANNOUNCEMENTS
Reviewed September 12, 2026. These are published national changes. Your plan’s benefits, costs and availability still need an individual review.
This page is a dated summary. For current coverage, costs, eligibility and plan comparisons, refer to Medicare.gov and your plan’s official documents. Check back there as new information is published.
Compare current Medicare plans| Part D amount | 2026 | 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Annual out-of-pocket threshold for covered Part D drugs | $2,100 | $2,400 |
| Defined standard deductible | $615 | $700 |
Some plans have a lower deductible. Extra Help can reduce your costs. The drug threshold does not include premiums, non-covered medicines or Part B medical costs; it is separate from a Medicare Advantage medical out-of-pocket limit.
This option spreads out-of-pocket costs for covered Part D prescriptions across the remaining months of the calendar year. It is available through Medicare drug plans, including Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage.
Participation is voluntary, with no fee to use the program.
Your plan bills you for covered prescription costs instead of collecting that amount at the pharmacy. Any plan premium remains separate.
Bills can change as prescriptions are filled. This changes payment timing; it does not lower your total drug costs.

CMS announced negotiated prices for a second group of 15 Part D drugs, taking effect in 2027. The list includes medicines used for diabetes, asthma and other chronic conditions. Your pharmacy cost depends on your coverage and cost-sharing.
CMS announced the end of the standalone Part D Premium Stabilization Demonstration for 2027. Review your plan’s Annual Notice of Change and compare your own premium and prescriptions when the new plan information is available.
CMS’s 2027 final rule requires plans to publish their eligibility criteria for Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill. A diagnosis alone does not promise a food, utility or other allowance. We’ll check the plan’s criteria, covered items and limits.
